I drive more than an hour to shop here, and it's worth the trip! There are Asian essentials that I buy here such as the XO Sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, and Taiwanese noodles. However, my favorite reason for shopping here, as opposed to other Asian markets, is their produce section! If you pay attention to what is in season, you can often find vegetables that are 2-4 pounds per dollar. (As of 2016) I pay 1/3 of the price for green onions that I pay at my local supermarket, & 1/10 of the price for red peppers when they are in season! Since I can cut & freeze them, it makes the hour drive worth the trip.
I love their meat selection and it's always competitively priced. Their seafood counter is the best I've found locally. We love to have them fry up a catfish for us and take it to a park with a bottle of sweet chili sauce for a picnic.
Just stop at the bakery in the Mekong Plaza for your sweets. They consistently have fresher baked goods than the grocery store.
