Visited Nola for the first time in awhile and so glad I did! We stopped by this afternoon between lunch and dinner. A great time to go because it wasn't too busy and we actually found parking in Market Square.
We were promptly greeted by a personable hostess and seated quickly. Our meal started with two appetizers, Fried Green Tomatoes and Potato Chip Crusted Catfish. Both, so good! I am a true fan of southern food so I was quite happy to find fried green tomatoes - and done well!
I selected the soup and sandwich duo which I felt was reasonably priced at $12. I received a full cup of french onion soup, a turkey Cuban sandwich and french fries. Everything tasted great. The soup broth was very flavorful and I liked the twist on the Cuban sandwich with the smoked turkey. The fries were also tasty with a nice mix of seasoning on them.
I wish we had saved room for dessert because everything sounded so delicious. I think next time we'll just go for coffee and dessert to truly enjoy the experience.
What impressed me most with our experience was the service. Very quickly on we were told our waitress had a large table in another section but the service didn't suffer at all. Everyone from the hostess, bartender, another waiter, even the Manager, stopped by to help our dinner service go seamlessly. Our waitress was also just so sweet and really personable. She was very informed as to the menu and also offered suggestions for coming back during Happy Hour.
NOLA has great ambiance too. I enjoyed the decor and music, everyone we encountered was very pleasant. Overall just a great experience!
