| - Came here on a Saturday around 5:30 pm and was able to be seated right away. For some reason I thought this was a place where you would go up to the counter to order, but it is an actual sit down restaurant. The place is a little dark, but I think they keep it that way to keep it cool and the shades are pulled to prevent the sun from blinding you. Anyways service was friendly and the portion sizes are extremely generous here!
We ordered:
-1/2 pound of Spicy Avocado Poke ($7.25) - tuna tasted fresh, the sauce they put on top had a nice kick to it, served with raw onions and wontons, the wontons underneath soaked up the shoyu sauce and was a little on the salty side, otherwise super good
-Lau Lau Special ($11) - steamed pork served in taro leaf with 2 sides, we picked side of white rice, mac salad and it came with some type of coconut jello dessert, mac salad was solid, the pork itself was pretty good could be seasoned a little bit more though
-Chicken Katsu ($9) - deep fried to perfection, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, came with side of mac salad and rice
-Mixed Plate with Roast Pork and Kalbi Ribs ($11.25) - kalbi ribs cost $1 extra I believe, had the mixed salad with a tasty dressing as one side, added on fried rice for extra $2 as other side, both the roast pork and kalbi ribs were so flavorful!
-Spam Musubi ($2) - they forgot to bring this out to us so we had to ask another worker to bring it, generous helping of rice inside, the seaweed didn't even wrap all the way around the musubi, regardless it was delicious
Will definitely be back when I'm in the mood for Hawaiian food with generous portion sizes!
