This place was decribed by our concierge at the W Montreal as Quebecois comfort food. It exceeded all my expectations. The macaroni and cheese was delicious and complex. The gazpacho, satay marinated shrimp, rosemary cressini & roquette salad was so good, I almost wished it was meal sized.
They also have local cider (cidre) available, and there was one called Perle which I liked better than most I have tried in Canada. You don't find many tourists in Vallier, which is a nice change from the area it's in, and you can't go wrong with anything you pick out from the menu.
