  • The downtown Glencoe Club is only useful if you were raised playing tennis, figure skating or live close by. They shut down the gym for a couple of years for renovations and when it reopened there was an additional studio for paid classes, but the gym equipment was pushed together really tight and is so crowded it is impractical. Not really what you would expect from a high end club. Then they renovated the outdoor pool. They made a big patio and added a kids water slide. Now the pool is so cluttered that there is limited room for members and now they have an hours long wait list to get into the outdoor pool. It looks nice but the Glencoe Club is a lot of window dressing and offers little substance. It is a club where you feel that the members are an inconvenience.
