  • Visited Sycamore for our hump day shenanigans last week and glad we finally did. Not very proud at all - for the fact that we hit Sycamore only recently living in South end for so long :$. But hey, we finally did. First impression - wow, super huge parking lot, that's totally unlike many breweries we recently visited and the red brick exteriors with Sycamore sing in white gave it a nice old school charm. So you enter the brewery and the bar is on the right with couple bartenders behind the bar serving the patrons busily, you know just the usual feel - there were couple tables in the front and couple wall side tables and I was like 'ok nothing special so far' and I asked the guy if they serve food as well (coz I know they serve beer duh!!) he throws at me a food menu and I order the food and flights (yes we always start with the Flight, lol). Then we pick out flights and the food order number and start to look around 'where to sit'. My wife was like 'lets sit inside, its cold outside, the beer is cold, I am wearing high heels, blah blah blah' and I am like 'let's see how the outside is ' so we walked out the door that leads to the outdoor patio and ........ WOW !!!! Now that's a whole new world out there and the prior feel of 'ok nothing's special vanished off in a jiffly' Its probably one of the biggest outdoor spaces for a brewery that's been neatly paved, with pergolas, with light strings going zig zag all the way from the front to the back, rustic wooden tables with umbrellas, lots and lots of people having a great time, lots and lots of pets, view of the lynx train passing at a distance (not romantic view, just a fact!). INSTANT LOVE for the place. Looks like not so long ago the flooring used to be all grass and they have updates it to patio pavers recently and its super neat. I personally love the pergolas that sort of the divide the hugs patio into sections. Loved all the flight beers and somehow feel in love with the Coconut one and wife loved the Lager so we ordered the big boys after our flights and the food was delicious as well. Felt a little over priced for the quantity but definitely delicious. We ordered the mushroom gruyere sandwich and the potato chips. Great place to hang out with friends and make new friends. If you have a fun group who likes beer and some fun time, this is the place to be. We had fun watching dogs trying to hump other dogs and these dog owners let it happen for couple seconds before they pull back their own...dogs!
