| - I've been going to a different Honda dealer for a couple years, and it's been a miserable experience. Mike Sullivan sent me over to Tempe Honda, and it was a huge relief.
The other Honda place would make extravagant recommendations for service that would cost me thousands of dollars on repairs which could have been made more practically. I always had to get a second opinion because I'd feel like I was being taken.. And a couple times I almost was. At the other place, you can't talk to anyone but the valet (and you hope they "get it right" when they relay what's wrong with your car). At Tempe Honda, the service advisors here are very knowledgeable, and I didn't get the blank smile stare and "I'm not sure, let me check" every time I ask a question. Efe Hernandez provided more than one solution to my problem and was able to explain the pros and cons to each understandably. At the other Honda place, I would have an appointment at 10:30 and still be sitting there at 4pm, even though I would be quoted a 2hr repair time. At Tempe Honda, the diagnosis and repair were done within the projected 4 hours. Two hours into service, I was advised that I may need another part. However, all attempts were made to save me the additional repair, which was successful, which I wasn't expecting based on my previous experience elsewhere. All in all, I found the customer service to be very good and much more comfortable and individualized for a consumer who doesn't know that much about cars. I didn't feel like I was being taken for a ride, and I was happy about the experience.
Not that it matters, but they do have a courtesy shuttle and an Enterprise rental car counter in house. The waiting area is inviting and bright. It's an open room. The chairs are large and comfortable, and there are outlets around the room. There is a snack machine and a vending machine with every kind of pop they make. Both take card and cash. There is wifi and a coffee machine which dispenses regular coffee, lattes, cappuccino, hot chocolate...all free. Oh... And can't forget free Oreos.
