| - After returning from a trip to Italy, all four of us have been massively craving some fresh focaccia.
Served plain, with onions, or tomatoes or even with raisins and sugar, every focaccia we tried in Italy was a melt in your mouth delicious experience. Unfortunately, nothing even comes close in Montreal. That is until we heard of this place.
After reading about Arte et Farina, all four of us started to believe in the dream, that maybe we'd found an authentic montreal focaccia heaven. So we rushed down to Arte et Farina. To our disappointment, they were all out for the day! As much as we were disappointed, this is also a great sign that their focaccia is made daily and always fresh.
Instead, we decided to try their bombolones, a custard filled fried Italian doughnut and a ricotta cake, along with a classic cafe latte. The bombolones were definitely legit, filled to order with a fresh Italian vanilla and lemon custard. I would definitely recommend these. The coffee on the other hand was pretty flat.
This place definitely oozes authentic and artisanal Italian food. From the open kitchen design to the lovely Italian owner/chef you definitely feel like you just landed in the old country.
Can't wait to come back and try the famous focaccia!
