| - Same amazing food, shitty, below-standard service. You need to get the soft boiled egg and mushrooms. I know this is a probably overhyped Bourdain dish, but it hits the mark so well. Spicy salmon tartar was good, and fries were great as usual. Cheese plate was depressingly lackluster.
In contrast to my previous experience, our server was cold and appeared bored with us. I detected what I perceive to be some anti-American bias; we were written off for most of the meal while other Québécois diners around us clearly got priority. This is the unfortunate reality of dining in Montreal sometimes: snooty, shitty attitude and service when the only thing you've ever done is lived in another country. We weren't obnoxious, rude, or demanding at all. Support staff did a great job, but the server needs to get her head on straight.
One bad server isn't going to keep me away, though. The food and atmosphere are the draw here, and I will happily be back.
