  • As Yelper Rich B. previously wrote, Ice Cream Sammies definitely falls under the three star category of "average, nothing really special, nothing particularly bad" which was disappointing for me because I was too hyped to try this place. This was one of the first places I bookmarked when we moved here back in May. I tried to surprise my sweet tooth husband on his lunch break by bringing him here on his lunch break on a Wednesday afternoon (around 2:30PM) and he was pretty excited too until he ordered his sammie and was told they didn't have chocolate chip cookies. I will say that for a week day afternoon it was pretty busy but chocolate chip is like the main cookie flavor? I just thought that was super weird to run out in the middle of the day. There were other cookie options like sugar, double dark chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and oatmeal with white chocolate and coconut but my husband is a simple man with simple pleasures so he opted to not get anything. I don't know if anyone else HATES eating when other people aren't eating but I instantly felt like crap for hyping this place up and then not being able to deliver to my hype, lol. I didn't feel bad enough to where I didn't order though, so I ordered an oatmeal with white chocolate and coconut sammie with coconut ice cream topped with Oreo pieces and Fruity Pepples. I hate Fruity Pepples in milk but on ice cream - bomb. I had tried a sample of the cookie that had been out so that's why it was hard but the actual cookie I received was soft and I don't like soft cookies so that threw me off. The ice cream was amazing though, it had that homemade ice cream taste that made me all nostalgic for when my grandma had an ice cream machine and would make me ice cream back in Belize. Aw. Anyway, I actually just ate the ice cream and picked at the cookie which defeated the purpose of getting a sammie. All in all, I think my experience definitely isn't the standard but it was enough me for to pass on trying them again just because I'd rather try another dessert spot instead. That coconut ice cream was everything though. Oh and there's a Yelp check-in offer for two free "edge" toppings. I don't know what that means since the topping are kind of applied all over the ice cream and not just on the edge of the sammie but my server didn't specify if that meant I got three toppings since the sammie already comes with one or if it was two altogether so I just got two? If you go, just get clarification if it's two or three, lol.
