| - I have been a patient of Dr. Torres for around 20 years. I LOVE this man! I told him he can't retire until I'm done needing OB/Gyn exams. I found him in my insurance book all those years ago after a bad pap smear result done at the Air Force base. I told him about issues I'd been having and he was genuinely concerned and said we'd figure them out.
About 2 years later I decided to have my third child. Dr. Torres was thrilled for me and my family. His prenatal care was the best of the 3 pregnancies I've had. The only negative was that their policy is patients have to see all of the other doctors at least once, just in case there is a reason he can't make the delivery. I saw Rebecca Tyre, and she was a nasty, cold person. Next visit I saw Fleisher. He criticized my weight and told me I needed more exercise. I explained that I have a lot of physical activity in my day, to which he replied doesn't count as exercise. This made me mad since I was a bartender and carried cases of beer, buckets of ice, mopped floors and ran my butt off 40 hours per week. I also had 2 young sons who ran me around and I coached soccer. My next visit was with Dr. Torres, who discovered that my fluid level was low and he wanted me to go on light duty at work and drink more water. I told him what Fleisher said to me on the previous visit, and his eyes lit up like he was possessed...he stormed out of the room! When he came back in, he said I'd never have to deal with the partners again.
As the years have passed, I have continued to see Dr. Torres on a yearly basis. We've been together through divorces, relationships, vacation photos, conversations about life...I've even run into him at a gun show. For a short time, I was out of work and uninsured He told me to come in anyway and that he'd work something out. He's extremely thorough and runs tests he feels are necessary to diagnose problems...unlike some doctors who order unnecessasry ones to get bonuses from the labs (or their employer in the chain clinics). He is a truly kind, compassionate, talented person. His character is amazing. In his personal life he has proven to be a loving and faithful husband and father. He is down to earth and not pretentious like so many other doctors, just after the mighty dollar. Dr. Torres works harder than any doctor I know. He is on call at St. Rose hospital, sees patients at his office, performs surgeries, does rounds before and after work, and delivers lots of babies too. He delivered my daughter, a scheduled C-section, 6 hours late, but that was due to an emergency delivery at Sunrise Hospital. On a side note, my daughter is now a patient too.
As far as his staff goes, they seem fairly friendly and efficient. A few years ago I had an appointment at a certain time but was busy at work. I called the office and asked if they could call me when there was 1 patient ahead of me so I wouldn't have to stop working to come sit in the waiting room. They accommodated my request without any hassle. The longest I've ever had to wait was around 40 minutes. Usually when I come in, I'm running late and they whisk me into the room as soon as I walk in.
I manage an internal medicine practice and know the ins and outs of medical offices. Dr. Torres runs a tight ship and everything seems to flow. He told me he won't even see pharmaceutical reps because they slow down the pace of the office and keep patients waiting. That's a great thing for patients. I recommend Dr. Torres to everyone I know and will continue to do so. I actually have a friend whose OB/Gyn said she needed a hysterectomy when she was in her mid 30's...she was heartbroken. I sent her to Dr. Torres and he said it wasn't needed and treated her issue in a different manner. When I saw my friend again, she gave me a huge hug and thanked me for sending her to this amazing physician.
On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I give Dr. Guy Torres 500 stars!!
