  • RIP OFF Saw an add online car.com for a 2014 Kia Optima with under 10,000 miles. Car look very clean minus dirt on interior door cloth and two scuffs on bumper. The price of the car was listed at $17,831.00 This was $500 over the Fair Purchase Price of Retail listed on KBB.com. The salesman then started his pitch. $17,831 Car, $1,495 Inspection fee (this is to make the advertised "Certified" used car actually certified to cary a longer warranty, and then $499 tinting fee. Oh yeah and that $499 tinting fee covers three service visits the first year and lifetime tint. New grand total is $19,821 before taxes, title, license fee and Document fee. This great deal at Mark Kia just went to $22,150 Out The Door. They proceeded to tell me that the internet pricing of $17,831 is the lowest they can go as that is only covering what they have into the car. Yet the KBB trade in value was $14,500. They refused to show me what they paid for the car when they took it in on trade. I told them I would buy the car today if they sold it to me for $15,500 and remove the fee for certified used and I did not want the tint. Thats when the salesman said, well the tint was already done on the car. So what does that mean.....I have to pay for the "Optional Tint". The saleman said that the tint only costs them $200 and the other $300 is "Purely Profit". Thanks for the honesty A-holes. Moral of the story is Mark Kia is a rip off. They charge you the fees for their due diligence in inspecting the car to ensure it is road worthy. This is a cost of doing business but they feel the need to pass it on to the customer. Then they decide to tint windows and pass that highly inflated cost on to you. Bad enough i get hit with sales tax in AZ at almost 9% but then you try to feed me another $1800 in fees. Screw you! Moral of the story is I found a 2014 Nissan Altima with 11,000 miles on craigslist that was in better condition outside and in. Paid no sales tax and in my opinion is a better car.
