| - Viva la caramel sea salt! Mitchell's offers rich, decadent ice cream flavors with amazing toppings. The caramel is scrumptious. Peanut butter sauce? Fagetaboudit. I've never met a Mitchell's flavor or suggested sundae (there's a list on the big board behind the counter) that I've been even slightly disappointed with. Perhaps it's because there's such little hype surrounding this Cleveland only chain, but I'm always blown away by how good my ice cream is. Caramel sea salt is my favorite. OMG. I have to text Lou K. and see what he's doing. I need caramel sea salt stat!
Downsides to my experience?
Located on busy Detroit road in an awkward plot of land, parking is always difficult to scout. And, because it is slightly downhill with a side entrance, kids spilling out all over, baby strollers rolling along, and softball teams piling out of Town and Country's, I always feel like I'm going to get my car totaled while parking (not necessarily a bad thing). There's no on-street parking. There's only a couple of tables inside, and a couple of benches outside. If you bring seating, we will sit. And maybe buy more stuff! As far as ambiance goes, it's ice cream cafeteria and sort of forgettable--also not necessarily a bad thing. I'll take cafeteria over character-dripping-down-the-walls-in-the-form-of-goo any day. What does spark my interest is the relationship between the two smiling cartoon men on the sign. Are they brothers? Husbands? Models? Just who are these dudes??
