  • The had to be the worst rescue experience of my life. After losing my companion of 11 years, my neighbors met the foster parent of Brandy, a beautiful lab mix that fit my need perfectly for a companion. She had been well cared for by the foster parent, was spayed, had her shots and was even taken through obedience classes. The foster parent even said she would watch her any time I had to go out of town. I filled out the 2 page application and was contacted by phone more than a week a later and asked some questions which were actually distubing to me and then was told I would be contacted by the end of the week. This didn't happen and a week later I received an email that ABC had found a better "forever" home for Brandy. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and actually a little upset. Then, I found out that ABC had told the foster parent if she let me see the dog, they would take remove her from her home. In fact, that's exactly what they did after notifying me she had been adopted by someone else. The foster parent was so upset over this, she went to ABC to check on Brandy and found her in a cage. She had NOT been adopted and they lied to evferyone about it. Brandy went nuts when she saw the foster parent and they ended up taking her back home with them where she belonged. I bought a pure bred lab this weekend for many times what Brandy's adoption fee would have been, but feel very bad that she is not home with me instead. I'm just happy to know she is away from ABC and in a home where she belongs. Just imagine, a dog who had to be rescued from a rescue facility!
