  • Flying out, 5-stars...Flying in, 1-star. We drove from Cleveland to Toronto because flying from CLE to Venice was $1,100/person...but Toronto to Venice was $1,100 for both of us...huge savings! It was well worth the 4 1/2 hour drive. Checking in was a breeze with British Airways, security was incredible in comparison to US airports and the waiting area at the gate was unbelievable. Ipads, lots of outlets, nice tabletops to eat, etc. I was super impressed. Following our fantastic vacation we got back and it was as if we arrived at a different airport. It was a horribly long walk to get to customs. I had a question at the computer terminal for customs about the "gift" amount allowed and the woman wouldn't answer it so I had to speak with a customs agent who proceeded to berate me for answering the question as a Canadian citizen which I'm not (oops). She sent me to another agent who was much friendlier, thankfully. It took about 30 minutes of waiting after the lengthy walk and customs experience before our bags arrived. Thankfully there were free luggage carts. We plan on flying out of there again for the savings...but we'll dread flying back in.
