  • I was here for a friend's birthday party. It was on a Thursday evening and there was no wait time. Service was good. The person who waited on us was very patient and friendly. We ordered a variety of items ranging from appetizers to dessert. We were group of 6 people. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, 2 plates of yuca frita, 1 regular chips, 1 jerk chicken taco, 4 chicken empanadas, 1 adobo chicken wings with dry jerk seasoning. Yuca frita are taro root chips served with a ranch flavored dipping sauce. They also have pineapple salsa and mango salsa on the table that you can use as a dip for yuca frita. The fritas are not oily yet they were crispy to some extent. We all liked it. Regular chips are typical french fries that you find at any other restaurant. My favorite is the adobo chicken wings with dry jerk seasoning. My first bite was salty, but I liked the taste after the second bite once my palette got used to the flavor. I will order these crispy well cooked wings again when I go there next time. We all liked the chicken empanadas, specially with the tamarind dipping on the side. It is sour and sweet flavored with a bright red color and rough texture. Chicken empanadas are well cooked with a crispy outer layer. Final item in the appetizers is the jerk chicken taco that was well seasoned. For entree, we ordered three dishes: house special lamb which tasted like a well braised lamb with some curry flavor served over a bed a rice, fried sweet plantains, and a wedge of lime. A drizzle of lime on the tender goat meat hits the ball out of the park. Along with that, we ordered house special Salmon which is panseared and served over sweet potato puree, edible flower and guava flavored sauce on the side. I didn't taste the guava flavored sauce since salmon is well cooked and delicious with a crispy outer skin. The sweet potato puree is the best with subtle flavor. The only disappointment was the third entree they served which is traiditional Spanish dish (chicken paella) that was mushy and seemed over cooked. We asked them for clarification about the dish quality and they were totally cool about it. Infact, they acknowledged that it is not supposed to be overcooked and deducted the amount from our final bill. This is a nice gesture. Finally for dessert, we ordered tres leches which is delicious and ended the dinner on a great note. It is soft cake that is served with some milk and has an amazing taste.
