UMMM, NO THANK YOU!
My husband and I attempted to attend The Tremont Arts and Cultural Festival in the park today and were sorely disappointed with the lack of activities and vendors. I found it surprising that this festival is in its 18th year because it simply was not evident to me. We arrived around noon and expected the activities to be in full swing, (due to the official start time of 8 am), but it seemed as if everyone was just getting ready.
However, what we found was a small park with a few vendors and not much action. We had hoped to be able to sample a variety of ethnic treats that represent this diverse city but just sort of lost interest when we saw what was available. Perhaps this is the standard arts and craft festival for urban areas, I wouldn't know.
I am accustomed to being in huge parks with large festivals that are highly organized. Things start popping very early with multiple stages, quality vendors and food courts. There is usually a posted schedule available as well. We were there for less than 10 minutes before deciding to leave.
We both thought it strange that in a park surrounded by mature trees, there was no breeze whatsoever. Now that is a bad sign!
