| - Room was nicer than expected upon arrival. The hotel ambiance gives the impression that its much older than it is.
The restaurants are awful. The only place open to sit down and eat is the Cafe. Staff standing around yet, I had to ask four times for an iced tea. I asked the hostess on the last day that we were there how she was and her response was "eh, its okay I guess" I guess I shouldn't have asked.... During the same visit, we waited and waited to be served and when he finally showed up - asked "what do you want" then everything we ordered, he tried to talk us out of - not taking his word for it, we liked what we ordered. I will say this, the food was good. Never unhappy with the meals. Not enough healthy options especially it being the only place open other than the bagel store - oh wait, get this, the "bagel" store - had 6 bagel choices, that's it - it had a ton and I mean a ton of doughnut options. It should be a Winchell Donuts not a bagel store. Coffee shop was very offended when I asked her to top off my Moms coffee because I got caught on a longer that expected phone call on my way back up to the room. The service all around is AWFUL - truly have never experienced every area of service so bad.
The room - the room isn't so bad, I will say that except for the face that they just kind of throw the items - like mini shampoos and lotions are just put on bathroom counter top, no plate or anything - just looked messy, pillows had stains on it, had to ask for them to be swapped out, we took the bed scarf off and put in on a bench, it was there the next day and then they left if in a ball on the couch. Never placed back on the bed after if was made. Floors never vacuumed, counter tops never wiped down. When I told the front desk, nothing was rectified. Complained about all of this. Never were we approached by the hotel staff to ask if there was something they could do to fix it.
Last night we ate at the steak house. OYE! Three meals cold and I mean cold, food dropped by the delivery guy, wrong meals delivered to me and another one of our family members and meat over cooked. Waiter, was a trooper but again, awful. They also would only take four forms of payment from our party of twenty. They wouldn't split the check, they wouldn't let each family pay for their own kids, it was a mess. Took an hour for everyone to figure out who owed who what to be able to be covered. Ridiculous
One of our friends, checked into her room only to find a dresser filled with clothes and a half eaten piece of cheesecake on the dresser - they were kind enough to upgrade her to a suite but how crazy is that? LOL
The pool is beautiful. Get there early as its the middle of summer and they have about ten lounge chairs - yes ten! There was never pool service when we were there. There was a young girl working the towels and she has a fridge with water and snacks but as it closed in on lunch, we never saw a hostess or a bartender. Pool was FREEZING! Even with it being 90 degrees at 10am, we and some other guests were cooling off in the hot tub!
Price is great, room is okay, food service is awful. People seem to love it here - I guess its a hit and miss. For us, a miss
Wifi by the way, is SLOW and its free up to a point so watch what your kids are using
