| - My friends and I were spontaneously looking for a casual dinner last Saturday. Duckworth's Uptown was our first choice, but there was no hope of getting a table there with the college football crowd camping out, so we went across the street to Rock Bottom. I'd been there a couple times before, and figured our experience would be fine (if nothing to write home about).
The hostess told us we could seat ourselves in the bar area, so we did. I thought it was odd how many empty tables were in the bar area.
Then we waited. And waited. And waited. We asked for a server twice. I would have left at this point but half of our group was really hungry and I knew it would be tough to get a table at other nearby spots.
We did finally get a server, but I could tell she would have rather been anywhere else that night, and maybe she did go somewhere else because we didn't see much of her during our visit. Getting water took a long time. Getting cocktails took a long time. Placing an order took a long time. Our food (chicken sandwich, burger, salad, hot wings) took about an hour to arrive, and based on the temperate of my sandwich I'd guess it was sitting in the window for at least a quarter of that time. Getting our check took a long time.
I'd give only 1 star, but previous visits were acceptable.
