  • I've only been here once but I will forever be grateful as I had spent ages looking for neem soap. They did not have the exact soap I was searching for but they were the only place I have found in Toronto who sells neem soap. I had first tried a pharmacy just down the street but had no luck, they directed us to B.J's ... Not gonna lie the name was moderately off putting but I was desperate for my neem. So after stoping at a few places on the way who claimed they had neem face wash I decided to continue as I was really looking for neem bar soap. Located on the east end of Toronto on Gerrard closer to Scarborough, too bad I hadn't discovered this little gem when I lived there the place ended up being not too difficult to find. It is rather large with a huge selection of Indian and Asian foods, given I'm not super familiar with them the place was well stocked, fairly organized and clean with an extremely impressive selection of fresh produce and plenty of delicious treats. The produce looked bright and smelled amazing... I was def eyeing the karela it looked so green and fresh but I was too concerned with obtaining my goal to be distracted. The staff is what truly sets this place apart though, they are extremely helpful and polite. As I mentioned I was in search of a particular item and the cashier had no problem stopping what she was doing to direct me to where I needed to go. I know yelp is not a place to review products but I absolutely adore neem soap as both a face a body wash it is incredible.... However I have yet to find any other place that carries it. This place has a fair selection of products as well, I ended up going with the very popular Margo brand which has neem and vitamin e but because I adore the stuff and it was so affordable you know I stocked up trying a few different brands just in case. The only real downside I see to this place is the parking; they only have paid street parking from what I can tell however there may be the odd spot in the back of the store however I am not certain. But I do know from experience that area is pretty bad for giving out arbitrary parking tickets so I do suggest slipping a few bucks in the meter even if your only popping in for a quick visit. Better safe then sorry I always say but if your looking for a good Indian grocer that also carries toiletries too try these guys out if your in the neighborhood.
