  • My daughter and I love this church. It's probably for reasons that most wouldn't expect. I'll explain... I'm a country girl at heart and grew up in a small country church that was probably less than a quarter of the size if this one...much, much less. I really like the ability to get to know fellow members and the intimacy of a smaller church building. I had originally visited Mt. Ararat years ago after accepting an invite from a friend to attend the Saturday night service. It was after that visit that I was like....WHOA!!! I remember Pastor Curtis speaking and he was speaking my language. I had a church home at the time but I would occasionally visit when I could. Fast forward years later and I found myself attending here as I was searching for a new church home due to a move and opportunities for children to engage my daughter. After taking a look at their small group offerings for adults and teens I was amazed and it truly didn't feel so big after all. What really got my attention was when I looked over and saw my daughter truly participating and worshipping the Lord for herself. Now, I know this is Yelp and I'm not trying to preach to you but...As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Pastor Curtis breaks down the word by dissecting it into chunks, easily understood. You may find yourself choking periodically as it is intended to do. Correction is painful at times but I believe this man to deliver what God tells him to. Every message I've heard has had something that I could immediately apply to my life. Really, isn't that the point? Now that I'm much OLLLLDer (lol) I realize that there's so much more to finding the right church home than size. It's about getting in where you fit in, serving in any capacity possible and discipleship. At the end of the day, only what I do for Christ will last. Ya heard!
