  • Decent decorative lumber is as rare as hens' teeth in this region. That is why I was so happy to stumble on Reclaimed Secrets! The proprietor had a large variety of reclaimed woods, and we were able to choose our own piece, and he cut it to size for us. In our case, it was alligator juniper with a slightly charred "live edge". I had done a LOT of price comparing, and the price for this was reasonable. We sanded, finished, and installed it ourselves. This humble slab of reclaimed wood is now the mantle over our fireplace and the focal point of the room!
