  • Mercy Gilbert's ATU where my daughter receives her Pan Hematin infusion weekly for her incurable, rare blood disease (Hereditary Coproporphyia) is wonderful. All but one nurse have learned how to give this complicated infusion and they are all interested in learning more about her disorder and how to help her while she is there. The problem with Dignity Health is their billing system. It is AWFUL!!! I will not list how many times I've been on the phone to them, central billing and then trying to get a call from their supervisor when nobody else seems to be able to solve my problem. I am my daughter's patient advocate as she isn't able to deal with insurance issues or billing issues due to her disorder. She is on disability and her disorder is made worse by stress brought on by constant bills being sent to her, sometimes 3 in a row, when I have asked them to stop the bills while I deal with a problem regarding the balance of this bill. They also have kept $2000 of my daughter's disability money since a March 13th billing date due to their inability to get medical records to the health insurance so they will process this claim. That is nearly a YEAR holding $2000 and no interest is paid on that money they are holding and their billing department is incapable of solving this. How does a billing department continue to bill someone for $1462.85 when they are holding $2000 on another service date. The medical center and their care is outstanding, but watch out when you have more than one service date because their billing department isn't able to handle it.
