| - I organized a bachelorette staycation weekend at the Montelucia 3/10-3/11, and in staying true to myself I waited until the last two weeks to really get ideas that were floating around in my head for months actually solidified. I wish I could remember the names of everyone I dealt with, because Prado and Omni really made it less stressful.
I first made a telephone reservation for our party of 12, but had left a message on the phone number listed on the website for private dining. I was called back the next day (by Sarah) and was pleased to hear that the room I had my eye on, Ferdinand's cellar, was available. I was immediately presented options I wasn't ready for: Do I have any decorations I want to bring in? Do I have a special menu in mind? If I had time I totally would have taken advantage of this, because it sounds like they were really open to it.
Dinner was a surprise to the bachelorette, but we popped by for wine/cigars/martinis the night before next to a courtyard fireplace (fantastic ambiance, especially for a mild Arizona spring night) and for breakfast that day. Service and bloody marys were great and so was Grandpa Frank! Grandpa Frank deserves a yelp page of his own.
Dinner. Holy cow. We checked in and once our whole party arrived our hostess led us to Ferdinand's Cellar. A long table fit 14 of us (they had easily accommodated a party # change for a limited seating room) and a very thoughtful hand written message to the bride from the staff was waiting for her at her seat. The room ambiance was great with candles and low lighting. We were well attended to, recommendations were on point and the food was fantastic. The only negative thing worth noting happened with the accuracy of splitting bills, but some of the fault may lie with our party there.
Too Long; Didn't Read: Reservations were a BREEZE, Ambiance is FANTASTIC, Service was GREAT, this place definitely worth dressing up for and having a special occasion dinner at. We'll definitely be back.
