| - I brought my anxious Husky here after speaking with the owner about my dog's background. My girl is a rescue who was violently abused as a pup and had a terrible experience with another groomer locking her in a kennel for 6 hours with no food or water because they said yes to too many clients. I was worried she would bite, but when I brought her in the groomer really put me at ease. It was wonderful to know that the staff here are well acquainted with the personalities and needs of different breeds and that not all dogs are "water dogs". They were gentle and sweet with her, even getting on the floor to brush her out and hold her to keep her calm.
I was so worried about getting a stressed out, freaked out animal when I picked her up, but I had nothing to worry about. Not only did she look beautiful, but she was happy and calm. She gave the groomers kisses before we left. For the first time after being groomed anywhere her coat looks bright and fluffy, you can tell they took the time to get the under coat out. When I ran my hand across her side, there was no extra fur still coming off. I know working on a Husky's winter coat is a chore, so I have always overlooked when she was still shedding after coming home from other places.
I was thrilled, Aurora was happy. She was chill in the car and stretched out for a nap as soon as we got home. If you have ever owned or worked with abused animals, you know how hard it is to leave your pet with someone else for any reason. You also know what it means to have that pet returned to you happy and calm after their experience. Until now, I have rarely had Aurora groomed because of the anxiety issues. Now I have found a place with a staff I can trust that I know will take care of her. We will definitely be back and I intend to bring my other dogs to them as well. I will try to share pictures as well.
NOTE: They are extremely busy on Fridays and Saturdays. I brought Aurora in first thing on Tuesday morning to make sure they had time to spend with her. While I was there, the dogs were all calm and enjoying the free space. I never heard a bark or howl or any sounds of distress. They are happy to work with you, but definitely make your appt. for a weekday so they have time to accommodate your wishes.
