*****Updated 5/14/18*****
Changed from *1 Star to ***3 Stars because Toni Goz responded 5+ weeks later. Although her behavior towards me wasn't acceptable for any business, I really appreciate the apology and her effort to try and reconcile the situation.
"I just saw your review on yelp. I'm sorry that we got off to a rough start. I did not know about GROUPON's 20% off deal because they don't let us know. If there's anything I can do to make this right for you I will be more than happy to. I will say that I get a lot of odd phone calls on my Groupon. I'm sorry that I mistook yours for one of those. I take great pride in my business and my artistic talent. My judgment however was off that day. Again I apologize.
Peace
Toni Goz"
*****Original Review Below*****
This review is specifically for Toni Goz, who is by far the most unprofessional person I've ever done business with.
I ran across a Groupon ad for a Brazilian blowout treatment for $173. Groupon also had a 20% off coupon that day which could be applied to that treatment ($134).
As a business owner, I know Groupon takes a large commission for sales made through their site so I called Toni and offered to pay her in full at her salon so she could keep the entire amount of $134 instead of me going through Groupon and her only ending up with half of that (or less).
At first she was completely confused and said there's no way the price could be that low on Groupon but she would check. She offered to do it for me for $150 which was only an extra $16 so I agreed, plus I love supporting local businesses.
We hung up the phone and I instantly received this message, "Just looked at my ad and did not see a price reduction. I hope you're not trying to rip people off.??"
So I immediately responded with the screenshots of the deal on Groupon to prove to her I was being honest with her.
You'd think after accusing me of trying to rip people off she would at least apologize? NOPE, didn't receive a single text message back.
I really hate writing negative reviews but this one was absolutely necessary. I'm hoping the owner of Kaya Beauty has a talk with this woman so she doesn't act out like this to other customers again. She is a terrible representation of your salon. I have plenty of screenshots of the conversation as well if the owner (or anyonewould like to see them.
