| - To say that I recommend Anaala is a severe understatement. In particular, Marissa is hands down the best stylist I have ever to in my life. This place is absolutely phenomenal. I do not write reviews very often, but I have never felt more motivated to write one than this.
I had never had my hair colored before, and impulsively decided it was time to make a change this weekend. I chose a salon purely based on the fact that they could get me in on short notice, and the results were incredibly disappointing. In short, I had very over-processed roots that were bright orange on top of an otherwise unchanged head of hair. I called Anaala on Sunday morning, knowing full well I would not be able to get in, but hoping they would have something I could purchase or some tips as to how to rectify the situation.
The receptionist was incredibly kind and understanding on the phone and, after checking with the stylist, somehow managed to squeeze me into an already full day. I arrived later that afternoon to see Marissa, who I was hoping would have enough time to correct the orange. Not only did she manage that, but she somehow managed to send me out the door with a color that not only looked incredibly close to the original picture I had referenced, but arguably better.
She spent a generous amount of time discussing where my hair started, what had been used to cause the orange, and what steps would be involved in correcting it (highlights, toner, and a gloss). It was very clear that she was incredibly experienced and knew exactly what she was talking about. I trusted her completely, and am so glad that I did.
From the moment I walked in the door to when I left, I had nothing but a positive experience here. The space is beautiful, everyone is kind, and the fabulous and cruelty-free Aveda products are the sugar on top of a very large sundae. If you're on the fence about where to schedule, just take my advice: Go to Anaala, and ask for Marissa.
