| - This isn't a bad airport but it's not amazing either. There are many options for food in the main area where all of the terminals meet. They have a pretty decent directory which is nice because many airports seem to lack those. They even have people in yellow shirts (I think) to tell you where to go if you're lost or looking for a place to eat. That's also pretty nice. In the bathrooms, they have those awkward-as-heck attendants to give you mints and kleenex and they have a tip jar behind them as if to say "tip me! you just took a poop now get out your wallet!" lol... yeahhh.
Overall the terminals I went to were fairly clean. They have a spa near the main area which is always a plus for me, if I have the layover time to get my nails 'did, lol. But I am sure the prices are super high, because, well, it's an airport! They can get away with that shit.
The Chili's was kind of blah, though. Sean and I stopped there for a burger before our flight back to St. Louis and it was way overcooked. When we asked the waitress about it she told us they "aren't allowed to cook them medium or below." Weird. I have never heard of such a thing before but maybe airport Chili's is different than normal Chili's because Sean always raves about Chili's burgers. It's one of his favorite restaurants to eat at so the airport location was kind of a let down.
Edit: A North Carolina Yelper informs me that this is due to a law in N.C. about not letting restaurants cook burgers at certain temps due to an e.coli breakout. Thanks for the info! I had no idea otherwise, lol.
Also, before my flight to Daytona, I stopped by their sushi bar/restaurant also near Chili's and got some special made tuna rolls. They weren't bad but these people clearly have no idea how to make a sushi roll. Each one was so massive I almost choked when eating it. The tuna did look fresh though albeit a little bloody. Weird. I couldn't finish them all mostly due to the size. It was hella overpriced too. I saw they had a Phillip's Seafood restaurant in Terminal C or something and I reeeeally wanted to go there but it was too far to walk and then have to walk back to our gate...we would have never made it in time.
Oh and they have Jamba Juice. The people who work there are hilarious, btw. I got a green fruit and veggie smoothie and they were out of the green veggie juice needed to make it so I asked for a shot of wheatgrass instead which they gladly substituted for me.
