  • In my effort to take part in this year's Yelp Shops Local Pledge (and avoid mall shopping as much as possible), today I decided to take a chance on Blue Banana Market. I honestly didn't know what to expect, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. They have SO MUCH stuff. I was sucked in for a good hour to 90 minutes just looking at stuff, picking it up, putting it down, picking it up, putting it in my basket, taking it out of my basket, walking away and then walking back and putting the recently rejected item BACK in my basket, because it just seemed too neat to leave behind. As other Yelpers have mentioned, they definitely have lots of items with "unique gift" potential. (One question: how do you get to the second floor? I tried looking for it - because I noticed that their Web site advertised rugs for sale - and all I saw was a little upstairs section where all the jewellery was, that abruptly stopped.) But thanks to Blue Banana Market (and my fellow Yelpers' reviews), Christmas Shopping 2011 has gotten off to a blazing start.
