  • I chose this place because they were the only nearby running store in the phonebook. Definitely a different shoe-buying experience. The sales girl first had me walk to the front of the store and back in my socks to see how I walked. She then asked me what size I usually wear. I told her I wear 8 and a half. I have been wearing this size for over a decade, even had it measured recently at another shoe store. Without even measuring my feet she decides to come out with a pair of size 9 shoes. Then I put on the shoe and go outside and she watches me run up and down in front of the store. Then she gives me another pair of shoe and watches me run up and down the front of the store. She then gives me another comparable shoe for my type of pronation, arch size, etc, and has me compare which feels better. She never mentions the price or pushes one above the other. One was 80 dollars and the other 125 dollars (I had my husband peek while she was assisting another customer). Well, the 125 dollar ones simply felt better. As someone who has had a previous running injury, I wanted the better shoe anyways not the better price. Note: Some other running shoe stores have you run on a treadmill and take a video of how your feet land. Before going to this store I had called and asked them if they do the treadmills, and she informed me that the treadmill isn't as accurate. If you are ONLY treadmill running anyways I suppose the treadmill analysis would be better.
