| - My friend and I were in a weight loss fitness challenge, and so the week before our final weigh-in, we had the bright idea of sweating off the last few pounds through hot yoga. Luckily, Vegas Hot! offers a free unlimited week to all new clients after taking a brief studio tour. There's also a Groupon available that allows you to do a whole month for only $30. Be forewarned that you can only do one, so choose accordingly.
EXPERIENCE: I was a total newbie to hot yoga, and of course, I had chosen the hottest class (in the very literal sense to the tune of 105 degrees, 40% humidity) to attempt on the first day. I honestly thought I was going to melt, wicked witch of the west style. This class was called Venus and it made all the other classes I tried that week feel like a walk in a breezy park. Surprisingly though, Venus yoga ended up being my favorite as I attended 3 times during my trial period. It felt so good to sweat and it taught me discipline. I also tried Yin (relaxing), Hot Pilates (challenging), and Hot Sculpt Express (meh).
CONS: The way they blast you with reminders and signs to tip is a little unappealing. The place itself looks so disorganized with its 2-story layout and back entrance. The front desk is located upstairs, and some people I encountered working it weren't that friendly. It felt like the place could use a little sprucing up and sanitizing down. You wouldn't notice unless you had another studio to compare it to. In my case, I'm comparing it to TruFusion, where it looks a hell of a lot nicer and cleaner. Like a freaking health club spa! Additionally, TruFusion has cheaper rates if you're a student, which Vegas Hot! conveniently leaves out of their "Dare to Compare" board that lists their competitors.
