Driving past HIllcrest Mall it looks like a promising inclusion for the deadmalls.com. The whole front is just done up in Soviet era blah. No windows. No visible skylights. Lots of parking. Hrm. What to expect?
It's anchored by a fairly ghetto Zellars and an unimpressive Bay. But the rest is quite decent enough. The inside is well appointed. There's a Second Cup, a Manchu Wok, and a Bulk Barn. No dollar store as far as I could find. But there's a Lettieri espresso joint to class up the place. Lots of nice seating and a 7 day a week TD bank.
All 'n' all better than a strip mall, no scrubs walking around, and a decent enough regional mall when you need to "pick up a couple things".
