| - I travel to Calgary a lot and stay at a variety of hotels depending on where I need to be for that day or week.
For the price, $350 per night for the Luxury room, this is way not enough quality. Sheraton, Hyatt and Palliser, all downtown, are either same price range or in some cases less and FAR superior rooms, and amenities. This was a very old and tired Holiday Inn that was renovated 6 years ago.
Towels are small, thin rough and scratchy. Rooms have cheap furniture, dark thread bare carpet, no fridge, coffee maker, no bottled water etc. Water pressure on the 11th floor is pretty poor, the bathrooms are not impressive.
Restaurant and bar are closed by midnight even on Fridays and Sat. No on site gift shop and located in a real rough part of town, with a number of shelters within a couple of blocks. Females should not walk or jog alone in this area.
Stayed at the four points Sheraton the previous week for $129. Far better hotel.
If you insist on staying here get a room that ends in an odd number, 1,3,5 etc. 1 is closest to the elevator and the odds face into the court yard so at least you don't get all the road noise the even numbered ones have.
