  • Java House is great. Food is cheap, but decent-ish quality. Beer is also cheap. I recommend the avocado shake - which i have never seen anywhere else. Also - grilled cheese, pad thai, brie and avocado sandwich are very delicious. Cash only, but there is an ATM in the building. The stairs to the washroom (although they HAVE improved them in the last year) are still a bit of a death trap, so take your time when descending.... Also you have to go through the kitchen to get to them, which i swear must be a healthcode violation, but so far so good.. In summary - Pretty awesome! Although i would consider this a dive bar. Awesome for a dive bar, and pretty awesome for a restaurant. Oh - also, they have a great patio.
