| - House of 1000 Beers isn't fancy, but it exceeds expectations in every way, starting with their selection - they actually have 1200 beers, and a huge number are hanging out in coolers for those who need cold beer now. They also have shelves devoted to Belgian, German, and a range of other beers, plus a good selection of 6 for $9.95 beers, so you can mix IPAs, lagers and stouts to your heart's content. Plus, when the owner saw I was buying a Duchesse de Bourgogne, he gave us the details of an upcoming tasting of similar beers and said we shouldn't miss it. A beer store run by a beer aficionado - you have to love that. There are lots of other places I could buy beer, but there are few places in the Pittsburgh area that make me want to buy beer - this is one of them.
