| - I have been to Las Vegas a kazillion times. Haven't tried all the buffets, but enough to know that Bellagio has the best one in that town. Maybe not the best for the price, but there's no sense in traveling that far and paying hard-earned money to get a mediocre meal. The food is good and everyone is sure to find something to satisfy them.
Last time I went, earlier this year, I found Tuna Poke during dinner. Yummy! Just imagine, all you can eat. But, I've learned from past experience to pace myself. Eat a little, rest, go back for more, rest, etc. And, you need to save room for desserts, such as the caramel flan. They even have sugarfree creations available. It's mind boggling how many dessert items there are to select from. Oh, and I asked for green tea at the end of my meal, and it was from Maeda-en and had Matcha (powdered green tea) in the tea bag, not one from Bigelow or the like. I thought this was a nice touch. For those who have never been to a buffet like this, after they seat you, take a walk to examine all the offerings. Then, take small portions of what you want. After that you can go back for seconds, thirds, fourths, etc. of what you really enjoyed. They constantly replenish. I'm pretty sure you can sit there for as long as you like. Just don't go too late at night, when the selections begin to dwindle, and you get to view the workers begin to dump platter after platter of perfectly good food in the trash, as they begin to close down for the evening. And as one of the other reviewers noted, if you want a little of everything, go in a time slot right before lunch, so you can have breakfast AND lunch items to choose from. For dinner, you'll find anything from smoked salmon, crab legs, salad greens with scallops and pine nuts, prime rib, wild boar, sauteed Chinese vegetables, pizza, shrimp cocktail, to a selection of soups. You might have to hover around the dessert station, because as they bring out something like chocolate dipped strawberries, hungry diners will swoop down and swipe them all before you know it.
Be prepared, there can be long lines. Unless you know someone who's a high-roller and gets comped, then you get to zip by in the express line. =)
Once, I rememer hearing a gentleman who had a Southern (maybe Texas, where I thought everything was BIG) accent exclaim something like, "Geez, I can't believe how big this is!".
