  • This is a really good place. I was cautious that it might be sketchy, or that the animals would not be well taken care of, but that is not the case at all. These are the former MGM casino lions, who are now living out their days in what I think are as good of conditions as possible. All the animals are clearly fit and in very good condition. They are well-fed, bathed, etc. Each enclosure has an air-conditioned den where they can get relief from the heat. The enclosures are kept clean. One may debate the ethics of keeping lions in captivity, but these animals were already raised in captivity due to the MGM program. I got no sense whatsoever that this facility is seeking to be an "attraction" (like the gator parks in Florida). Their first duty is to the comfort and health of the animals. If you are a big cat lover, I highly recommend you pay a visit. We went on the private "backstage" tour, which takes place before normal opening hours, and we felt it was well worth it.
