  • I love this family owned Soul Food Restaurant in Ahwatukee. Not only are the husband and wife owners first rate with customer service, the food is so good. If you grew up eating soul food as I did, it is not easy to impress. My Mom was an awesome cook and I took her recipes and learned how to cook well also, However, finding a restaurant that cooks the Macaroni and Cheese with just the right amount of cheesiness, is not easy. Most of the time the mac and cheese will be more emphasis on the macaroni than the cheese. So I always approach soul food restaurants with a moderate dose of skepticism combined with a healthy dose of hopefulness and anticipation. Ezekiel's does not disappoint. Not only was my Mac and Cheese just right, so were the Collard Greens, Fried Catfish, and Yams (AKA Sweet Potatoes). One downside is there is a wait, because they prepare everything fresh, but the upside is, it is worth the wait. Topping it off with the sweet potato pie, was the icing on the cake. That type of pie is often over done, but again, this restaurant did not disappoint. Excellent SOUL FOOD, and great service with a smile. Although I cannot go too often, since I am trying to lose weight, I have been several times, and plan to go back. Also will recommend to others who enjoy this type of cuisine.
