| - I was a customer of DISH for 8+ years. My house is currently in the process of being sold, so I contacted DISH and informed them I'd like to cancel my account. This process was frustrating, exhausting and took a little more than 45 minutes on the phone to finally accomplish. I was transferred to an account retention specialist named Katelynn Flint. Katelynn provided me with every option imaginable, other than canceling. I explained my situation multiple times - I'm moving, I'm currently staying in a house with existing cable, we've had a loss of income in our household, we can not afford it at this time, we don't need it anymore and we would like to cancel. During this frustrating process, I also discovered that they had been charging me a $10.00 monthly fee for local channels. When I asked why they would charge me $10 a month for channels that are free to the public, Katelynn denied this charge. My online bill clearly showed that this was untrue. I will be buying another home sometime in the near future, and one thing is for certain, DISH will not be coming with me!
