  • What a find in the back corner of a strip mall! This sushi place had great, fresh fish, some stellar tempura, and the overall ambiance is completely perfect for a date night. It's a cozy, dark nook next to a diverse array of other businesses. Service was super attentive and helpful. We got a chef's selection of nigiri, one of the specialty rolls, and mixed tempura plus sake and some Japanese beer. The nigiri was super tasty, my favorites the somewhat fatty yellowtail selection and the butter fish. Meanwhile, the specialty roll was also delicious and very well balanced. Now, I love tempura with a passion. This tempura was crispy, perfectly cooked, and not too heavy with a nice light dipping sauce. The only reason for four out of five stars overall is that we felt the price point was just a smidge high (for Chandler standards yet downright reasonable compared to Scottsdale prices) and the sushi rice needs just a bit more finesse to be truly outstanding. Overall, we had a great time here, the fish was great, and we'll be back for many a date night. Plus, can't wait to try to Wagyu beef options for the weekend specials!
