  • I am a frequenter of both Village and Made by Marcus, and have indulged in both several times over the last year in all seasons. I'm amending my review of Village from 5 stars to 3 stars on account of the last few experiences I've had at village, which have detracted from the quality of the old Village I used to know and love. Price-wise, Village and Made by Marcus are identical. However, I have noticed that the last few times, the single scoop size was noticeably smaller than the single scoop from Made by Marcus, such that I could literally see the huge empty space in the cone with a single small scoop resting over top. Initially I thought it was a one off, but the last few times I've come to Village I've noticed a consistent trend in smaller scoops than before. The Earl Grey is my favourite flavour, and during my latest visit I found the flavour balance to have changed from previous - almost more leaning towards hints of caramel which I was not a fan of in the Earl Grey. I used to favour Village more than Made by Marcus, but given the trend of smaller scoops at Village and the improved flavours and quality recently at Made by Marcus, I think the tables have turned.
