| - When I first decided to relocate to Cleveland two years ago, everyone told me I HAD to go to Jack Frost. "Surely, this place can't be all that special", I thought. Oh boy was I wrong.
My first experience was before the remodel and the line was out the door in the middle of February, but no one seemed to mind waiting in the cold. Once I actually made it inside, I was overwhelmed and amazed by the choices. Who knew icing could be stacked so high on a single donut or that Fruity Pebbles make such a delicious topping? Not this girl, that's for sure.
I didn't know what most of the flavors were and had to ask for an explanation. The woman working was very short and to the point, but again...the line was out the door.
One thing that really stuck with me was how genuine this place is. They make great donuts from scratch and don't try to be something they aren't. So many independent bakeries try to be hip and trendy, but Jack Frost is sweet and gritty; that's probably why they've been in business so long.
I love these donuts so much I got a speeding ticket trying to get there before the rush. Who cares about going to traffic court when you were speeding for a good reason (e.g. Boston cream, German chocolate, salted caramel, etc).
