  • I am a long time owner of a Marvel beverage fridge with a control board that stopped working. After contacting Marvel, I was put in touch with Complete Appliance to fix the panel. A Complete Appliance service representative looked at the control board, determined it was faulty, and after two visits replaced the board for which I paid $345. One day after the control board was replaced, the temperature setting on the control board replaced by Complete Appliance stopped working. When I called a Complete Appliance rep to come back to service the faulty control board, I was told I didn't know how to operate it, was talked down to, and was told if I simply to turned the fridge off it would work. Even though the control board Complete Appliance replaced only worked for 24 hours, I trusted after doing what I was told by Complete Appliance that the new control board would work properly going forward. The control board worked for another day and was back to not allowing the temperature setting to work properly. I gave it a few days and when I still was not able to change the setting, I called Complete Appliance again. I was put in to voice mail, so I left a message with my complaint. After a week I still did not get a return phone call, so I called again. Once again I was put in to voice mail and left another message. I never rec'd a return call after this message either. Now, exactly 60 days after the initial service I contracted and paid to Complete Appliance, the control board is completely dead. In response to my call to come out and replace the now dead control board Complete Appliance installed, they informed me it would cost me an additional $99 for a service rep to come to my house to "see what I did wrong". Besides being immensely frustrated with the faulty component Complete Appliance installed, to add insult to injury I was talked down to and repeatedly interrupted while I express my dissatisfaction with having to pay an additional $99 for another service call to examine a component they installed. This obviously is not acceptable since the control board never worked in the first place AND I paid $345 to have it fixed just 2 months ago. I asked the manager to put me in touch with the owner. The rep contacted the owner and called me back to say the owner would knock a service call fee down to $59. I explained I simply wanted the company to either come out a no charge to examine the dead component they installed or give me money back. I also for the owner to call me directly as the owner told the rep it was obviously a "user error". The rep told me the owner wasn't available to talk (even though the rep talked to the owner on two different occasions during the course of my conversations with the rep). The company's final position was that they only guarantee their work for 30 days and any problems with their work or components after that time are the responsibility of the customer. I would warn anyone considering contracting Complete Appliance to seek an extended warranty on anything they install or service. As is evident in this example, they are not willing to stand by their parts/service after 30 days and will seek to have the customer pay for any additional service calls stemming from the company's work. This was my only experience with Complete Appliance so I would also have no evidence to show the parts they install are not refurbed or faulty components since what they installed in my fridge never worked properly and now doesn't work at all. I regret Complete Appliance would not stand by their work by either coming to examine the component for no charge or giving me my money back. I intend to pursue additional recourse to ensure my neighbors, friends and other potential customers don't experience what my family has experienced with Complete Appliance.
