The Toronto branch of this Montreal-based store has opened its doors. A really nicely designed shop offering balsamic vinegar, oils, spices, and... olives! Shelves are lined with cans, jars, and bottles of condiments and accompaniments - as well as appropriately-sized dishware to serve them in.
They carry a mix of international, local, and house-branded foodstuffs. I spied spices from the Spice Trader out on Queen West as well. Their house-branded olives are a product of Spain and I picked up a couple cans, one with anchovy-stuffed olives (very mild tasting all-around) and hot pepper-stuffed olives to try at $3.25 a pop.
The back of the store is set-up as a kitchen where I'm told tastings and classes will eventually take places. A cart of vinegars and oils are up front for you to sample the various bottles they stock.
A good spot to shop for gifts for food-centric folk.
