| - Wanted some new, mid-life ink (it's a thing). We went here for it's stellar reputation.
When I first met Jake B. I thought "oh, kinda young" but NO - he put me at ease right away. Someone with years of experience and expert knowledge...you'll just know it immediately. He'll look you straight in the eye, explain technique, outcomes, color differences, care, answer questions - everything. He took the time to carefully, perfectly draw my design (not a stencil/copy, stuck on and traced).
And folks, tip your artist. Especially when you realize they don't all share the same level of talent. Not necessarily at this place, but if you've ever accompanied a friend having custom or large work - during that time you'll see another artist do 2-3 clients, tracing easy, small designs. They DON'T charge for drawing/design time, only application time!!! I'm sure they all have their fair share of creative-but-hard and super-easy days. Still.
Talk to friends and read reviews. You want someone who does great work, that you'll love, but also work that they're proud of. A professional understands that YOU are now part of their portfolio.
