| - This spa is one of my favorites. Sauna, steam room, cool dip, cold plunge, two large hot tubs with ergonomic seating and exactly 103 degrees. The set up and décor is spectacular. The service is friendly and prompt. The facilities are clean and well stocked. You want for nothing!
I have received two massages here. Both were wonderful. My husband also received a massage and loved it. I utilized the nail services, with which I was disappointed. My husband got his hair cut and was only moderately satisfied, but did enjoy the pampering. ($85 mens hair cut... yikes)
A couple things that brought me from 5 stars to 4.
1. the pedicure was acceptable, but the manicure was terrible. The gel started to come off the next day. The technician wanted to talk more than focus and I wound up with crooked nails and a shape I didn't ask for. At $110 for a manicure, this just isn't acceptable.
2. the nail salon is out of the spa. While this is pretty standard for spas these days, and I understand the necessity, it's awkward and I've never been a fan. Come on people -- I'm naked under here!
3. The lounging rooms are cell phone prohibited. This alone isn't a problem as the facilities are clothing optional, so I can understand this completely. However, while there is a lounge area where you can use your phone, it is at the second reception desk, so people are constantly coming in, bustling about, and there are no suitable, comfortable lounging chairs and atmosphere is not relaxing. There is a TV over a fireplace which seems nice, but the chairs aren't positioned in a way to make them enjoyable. For those of you using e-readers, ipads, kindles, or books on your phone, this can be somewhat annoying. The spa could easily fix this one of two ways. Either allow phones and require robes in the tranquility room, or provide more relaxing furniture arranged in a more useful and relaxing way and atmosphere condusive to relaxation in the clothing required lounge.
4. The steam room need an integrated eucalyptus scent with the steam. Every so often an attendant comes around opens the door, lets most of the steam out while spritzing eucalyptus scent in the room. This does a few things. First, if you're in there while she spritzes, it lets out all the steam. Second, the scent is REALLY strong and overwhelming right after a spritz and finally, if she hasn't been there in awhile there is almost no scent at all. It's not a deal breaker, but it is not a good solution.
Other than these things, this is my go to for a relaxing day. It's easy, convenient, valet is free (see disclaimer about valet below), and the facilities are very well maintained and enjoyable.
Disclaimer about valet parking: While this doesn't apply to most people, for those of us with big trucks -- they don't accept duleys for Valet. They will give you a ticket to park in the limo lot and then you'll have to walk. You can ask the supervisor to park for you, but I didn't know that until my second time around.
