| - Decent food. Warm, personal service from the owner himself despite it being very busy. Biggest plus: you can get momos here!! Momos are like spicy xiao long bao with thick skins, or if you know real authentic Mongolian food (not those food court type places that basically reheat a pile of Americanized Chinese dry noodles for you), it's closer to a spicy buuz than an XLB.
This is Nepalese, not Indian. Our first time the owner took the time to explain some regional differences. It was clear that he is passionate about and proud of the food and culture of his people.
Aside from the owner, everyone was also attentive, polite, and good with refilling our waters.
We enjoyed everything we ordered here, not just the momos (though we liked those the best), and, what with the generous portions, ended up with enough leftovers to feed ourselves for days after. Mango lassi is pretty good here, not the best but nowhere near the worst.
PROTIP: Never bother with the buffet, not just here but anywhere. Everything is much better (though more expensive) if you order it off the menu because they make it for you to order instead of it sitting out congealing for the entire service.
Unfortunately you have no choice but buffet at lunchtime. It wasn't bad for a buffet. The tandoori chicken especially was tender and juicy, surprisingly not dried out. Some of the dishes even had a bit of kick for a buffet! (Usually buffets are pretty mild to cater to the lowest common spice denominator.) Favorites were the palak paneer (saag paneer), some aloo (potato) dish, tandoori chicken, vegetable samosas (relatively crisp considering they are sitting out on a buffet), chicken curry, and gulab jamun for dessert. Naan was also good and moist, not hard and dried out. Chicken tikka masala is on the sweet side. The goat curry was really tough, which was strange because it has been pretty tender when we've ordered it a la carte for dinner.
UPDATE: This place was on TV for cockroaches and unsanitary practices in the kitchen September 2016 but I don't care! Whee, germs!
