| - We visited the Maharaja for dinner last night for the first time in a long time. The food and service completely lives up to my memories and I cannot stop raving about the Malai Kabob. The food was so delicious, it reminded me that definitely need to come here more often!
When our party of two was seated, we were the only people in the restaurant for dinner. Gladly, more people soon arrived after us.
The waiter started us off with complimentary papadam and chutney (I am so sorry if I misspell anything) and we were impressed. Not because this is unusual at an Indian restaurant, but the chutneys definitely stood out! They were more coarse than at some of the other local restaurants and very spicy (which I love).
We also ordered fish pakora, Malai Kabob, and Lamb Chati (I think). Each of the dishes could not have been better. The fish was crispy and well-spiced, and, like I mentioned earlier, the kabob was incredible. I tried it at medium, which is quite hot but doesn't wash out all of the other spices. Definitely a good choice.
All of the waitstaff were very friendly and the dishes were timed well, everything coming out hot after we had finished the previous.
For dessert they gave us each a scoop of ice cream. I don't know if that's what they always do, but it was just the palate cleanser we needed after the hot meal.
It looks like the two-seat bar in back is also a good place to wait for your pick-up order. I had never noticed it before.
I for sure want to come back again soon and hope others do, too!
