The pork katsu was very juicy and my veggies in the curry had the right springy done-ness. And, yes the curry does have a nice depth of flavor. That is where all the good stuff tapers off. Yelp has this place listed as one $ but with 2 people, sharing 1 drink, our bill was $48. If you get the basic chicken katsu its one $, the rest, and I mean THE REST is all EXTRA. I ordered spicy level 5 and my friend ordered 8. Our spicy levels were extra charges and it gets more expensive the spicier you get! I think spice level 8 is 35 cents extra. Which reminds me, they switched our spice levels and I was almost crying trying to eat my curry while his had almost no spice...we were in no mood to voice our concern as we were just hungry. The takoyaki felt a bit under done, the 'meatloaf' is more like a soft burger patty and cheese and corn cost 75 cents extra, each.... not worth the extra price (the corn was COLD). Over all I would love it if I could just get the curry sauce to go and fend for myself. Oh and the 16 grain rice was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G if you like rice similar to the purple Korean rice. *TIPS - Don't go when it's busy (we went when it was slow and still felt a bit rushed) AND tell your mom you love her.
