My husband and I were in dire need of breakfast this weekend and stumbled upon The Coffee Pot thanks to Yelp (reviews) and Foursquare (proximity). If you're looking for a greasy spoon, this is the real deal: old booths, signs that could be from last week or a decade ago, a handful of lifers who know the regular customers, and prices that reflect all of these facts. For $13, we had two solid coffees, a Greek omelette with a generous amount of feta, and a platter that included French toast AND scrambled eggs AND bacon.
This is good stuff, you guys. No frills - just solid diner fare, and maybe you'll even get to work on a crossword that someone's left behind. I'm sure we'll be back.
